Editorial: sport volunteering, educational leadership and social transformation

Volunteerism is considered an innately altruistic and meaningful act. In light of prevailing public health, well-being educational discourses, volunteerism has been afforded greater value as area global concern; particularly in relation to creating sustaining opportunities for people engage sport, physical activity leisure. Against this backdrop, the interrelated activity, education leisure-related volunteering represent a vibrant landscape ideas, activities enterprise. From local community grassroots ventures, regional development projects, large scale sport mega-events, within space offers means substantial individual collective interaction, personal professional skill development, knowledge transfer, capacity building sector transformation. Yet, while advantageous aspects are well-founded, they may rarely be guaranteed. Rather, (both beyond sector) requires considerable foresight, investment, resourcing goodwill.
